JW Marriott Mumbai Sahar, Best Business Hotel in Mumbai

JW Marriott Mumbai Sahar Review 2026: Top Business Hotel

JW Marriott Mumbai Sahar

Most business travellers to Mumbai make the same mistake: they book a hotel in South Mumbai for the “real Mumbai” feel, then spend three hours a day in traffic between the airport, BKC and their meetings. The smarter move is to stay where the city’s flights, highways and offices meet. That’s exactly what JW Marriott Mumbai Sahar offers – a five-star base about 1.8 km from the international airport, with BKC around 11 minutes away by car outside peak hours.

We stayed here when OPPO hosted us for a product launch, and we’ve updated this review with the hotel’s 2026 offerings. Here’s what the rooms, food, pool and event spaces are really like, what it costs, and who it’s best for.

Location: Why JW Marriott Mumbai Sahar Works for Business Travel

Where it is

JW Marriott Mumbai Sahar sits on IA Project Road in Andheri East, right beside Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA). The hotel lists the airport at 1.8 km, so you’re out of the car and checking in within minutes of landing – a huge plus when your flight lands at 2 am.

Getting around

  • Airport (T2): about 5–10 minutes by car, depending on the terminal traffic.
  • Mumbai Metro Line 3 (Aqua Line): the T2 station is about 5 minutes away, giving you an underground, traffic-free ride towards BKC and South Mumbai.
  • BKC (Bandra Kurla Complex): about 11 minutes off-peak – double or triple that in the evening rush.
  • Cuffe Parade / Nariman Point: about 26 minutes in light traffic, though realistically plan for an hour.
  • Andheri, Powai and the SEEPZ office belt are all close by, which is why the hotel is packed with corporate guests on weekdays.

The building

Opened in 2015 as Marriott’s second JW property in Mumbai (the first is JW Marriott Mumbai Juhu), the hotel is a large, modern glass-and-steel tower. Inside, it’s all polished stone, statement glass art and soft lighting – premium without feeling stuffy. With 588 rooms, it’s one of the biggest luxury hotels in the city, but the layout keeps the public spaces from feeling crowded.

The welcome starts the moment you step inside.

Lobby and Rooms at JW Marriott Mumbai Sahar

The lobby

Walk in and you’re welcomed by a giant crystal chandelier hanging above a large marble basin – the hotel’s signature. The lobby is vast, with plenty of seating in clusters, so it works as an informal meeting spot as much as a place to wait for a cab. The corridors leading off it are calm and well-lit, with casual furniture and glass art that ties the whole design together.

Rooms at JW Marriott Mumbai Sahar

Our room had two double beds, a wall-mounted flat-screen TV and – crucially for business travellers – a well-lit work desk with a comfortable chair and power points within reach. The hotel’s rooms come with pillowtop beds, marble bathrooms and high-speed Wi-Fi, and the room types range from deluxe rooms to suites. There are also 163 deluxe rooms facing the pool, plus mobility- and hearing-accessible rooms.

JW Marriott Mumbai Sahar

The highlight is the view. Floor-to-ceiling windows with electronically controlled curtains open onto a wide sweep of Mumbai’s suburbs; on the airport side, you’ll watch planes line up for landing. During our stay, the double glazing kept the aircraft noise out well.

A sliding door separates the bedroom from the bathroom, which had a deep bathtub, a separate shower and premium toiletries. It’s the kind of bathroom you actually want to spend time in after a long day of meetings.

What reviewers say in 2026

Across booking sites, guests rate the hotel around 8.9 out of 10, with service and location scoring highest. The one recurring complaint is room size: entry-level rooms feel compact compared with resort-style JW properties. If you need space to work or travel with family, upgrade to a larger room category or a suite.

Pool, Spa, Fitness Centre and Rooftop Bar

The pool deck

During our stay, the pool, fitness area and spa were all on the 10th floor. The outdoor pool is surrounded by wooden cabanas and palapas (thatched-roof shelters), with plenty of greenery that makes it feel more like a resort deck than an airport hotel. It’s at its best early in the morning or around sunset, when the heat eases and you can watch the flights take off.

JW Marriott Mumbai Sahar

Spa by JW

The hotel’s spa, now called Spa by JW, offers massages and body treatments – an easy way to shake off a red-eye flight before a 10 am meeting. Book ahead on weekends, when wedding and staycation guests fill the slots.

JW Marriott Mumbai Sahar

Fitness centre

The gym, right next to the pool, is open to guests at no extra cost and has proper cardio machines, free weights and strength equipment – enough for a complete workout rather than a token treadmill.

EL – the rooftop bar

New since our original stay, EL is the hotel’s rooftop bar, serving global-inspired cocktails with city and runway views. It’s the obvious spot for an after-work drink with a client, or a celebration once the deal is signed.

Other places to eat and drink

  • JW Cafe – the all-day restaurant serving Indian and international dishes for breakfast, lunch and dinner, plus a popular Sunday brunch.
  • Romano’s – the hotel’s Italian restaurant, good for a quieter business dinner.
  • BarQat – Indian flavours served under the open sky.
  • AUTM – JW Lounge – a café by day and a cocktail bar by evening.

Of course, the meal most guests remember is breakfast.

Breakfast at JW Cafe and Business Facilities

The breakfast buffet

Breakfast at JW Cafe is a proper feast. On our stay, the spread ran from eggs to order, sausages and a bakery corner with different breads, to a full Indian section with dosa, idli, upma, poha, Pongal (a South Indian rice-and-lentil dish), puri bhaji and chole bhature. Everything was fresh and well-portioned, and the coffee was strong enough for an early start. Pair it with a cup of kadak chai (strong, milky Mumbai-style tea) if you prefer.

Running late for a flight or meeting? The hotel now offers a free grab-and-go breakfast from 6:30 to 10:30 am every day.

Meetings, conferences and events

This is where JW Marriott Mumbai Sahar really earns its “business hotel” title. The hotel has:

  • Over 56,000 sq ft of indoor and outdoor convention space.
  • 11 meeting rooms for board meetings, training sessions and interviews.
  • A pillarless Grand Ballroom of about 10,000 sq ft, the venue for product launches like the OPPO event we attended.
  • JW Lawns, an outdoor space for weddings, receptions and corporate dinners.

Being minutes from the airport makes it a natural choice for national sales meets, conferences with out-of-town delegates and destination weddings where guests fly in from several cities.

Business-friendly touches

Fast Wi-Fi, a desk in every room, 24-hour room service and a lobby that works as a meeting point all make life easier. Check-in is at 3 pm and check-out at noon; if your flight timing is awkward, ask for early check-in or late check-out at booking.

Now, the practical bit: what it costs and when to book.

Our Verdict

JW Marriott Mumbai Sahar gets the fundamentals of business travel right: you land, you’re at the hotel in minutes, you work at a proper desk, you sleep well behind good glass, and you eat a breakfast that sets you up for the day. Add a rooftop bar, a resort-style pool and some of the largest event spaces in the city, and it’s easy to see why so many companies hold launches and conferences here. If you have a few hours spare, our [Mumbai 2-day itinerary](→ INTERLINK: Mumbai 2-Day Itinerary: Beaches, Bazaars and Street Food) shows you how to use them.

Book a high floor, order the dosa, and watch the planes land while everyone else is stuck in traffic.
